U.S. Women's Movement

Joan Roth’s photo archives hold the visual history of the second-wave women’s movement starting in the 1970s until today. Roth captured feminist leaders, advocacy for the ERA and reproductive rights, the Dyke Marches, and women’s marches.  She continues to be on the frontlines of today’s women’s movement capturing the response to SCOTUS overturning Roe-vs- Wade and women mobilizing for abortion access and gender equality in America.
